The roguish hero from English folklore springs to life as a sweeping 10-part romantic adventure masterminded by John Glenn and Jonathan English. In the aftermath of the Norman invasion of England, Saxon forester's son Robin (Jack Patten) grows disillusioned by the steady corruption of power, represented by the scheming Sheriff of Nottingham (Sean Bean). Robin becomes the figurehead of a band of righteous rebel outlaws including Friar Tuck (Angus Castle-Doughty), Little John (Marcus Fraser) and Will (Henry Rowley), who gain notoriety by stealing from the rich to give to the poor. The eponymous disruptor falls in love with Marian (Lauren McQueen), the daughter of a Norman lord, who is well placed to infiltrate the royal court and expose corruption from within.
